Most people think that the only type of fishing for pike fishing is available to Missouri, found in large tanks. They assume that you have a great boat with a big engine and maybe take one or two downriggers on its perch in the Ozarks. This is not the case, however. Several Ozark streams have an excellent population of perch. All you need to catch them is a medium action rod, in one night crawlers, minnows or crankbaits. Current River
The pike fishing on the river is currently very neglected. There are some very large (possibly even the world record), the fish available for fishermen and the general number is not bad. However, almost all focused on black bass, perch and only a few target. The best fishing is usually perch between the cities of Van Buren and Doniphan. The perch fishing is usually best in Big Spring,which is located a few miles behind Van Buren. Spinners, jigs and small fish tend to work very well. Black River
